American Beautyberry: (Callicarpa americana) is commonly called beautyberry, American beautyberry, or French mulberry. It is a deciduous plant that will lose its leaves and go dormant in the winter time.
Birds, squirrels, and other wildlife eat the purple berries, which ripen around mid-fall.
It is often planted to make a border or planted among other shrubs. Sometimes, beautyberry plants produce more fruit if several are planted together. It’s relatively disease and pest free.

Bloom Time and Color: June-August,
Ideal soil type: Very adaptable to many soil types, including clay, as long as it is well drained.
